THOUGHT - THE DEW
Scripture Reading - Deuteronomy 32:1-2
1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: KJV
“The Dew of God’s Thoughts” is basically speaking of the early morning “thought” that is on your heart as soon as you wake-up. There will be times you go to sleep with nothing specific on your mind but when you wake-up you find yourself thinking of a specific thing. This happens when the Lord lays a “thought” upon your heart during the night season. It is not uncommon for the Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit to speak to your heart while you are at rest. We know that the Lord has a greater chance of being effective in His communication to you if you are not distracted. It is said, “When we draw near to God He will draw near to us” in James 4:8. Therefore, when a “thought” is placed on your heart during the night season it is God’s Way of inviting you into a communion session with Him. The reason it is referred to as “The Dew of Thought” is because just like the moist fresh dew is there in the morning this prevailing “thought” is there to wet your appetite for more information from God. Questions may arise in your heart about what the “thought” means, why am I “thinking about this” or what should I do with this “thought or ideal”. Although we mentioned that this “Dew of Thought” could come unexpectedly when you don’t have anything specific on your mind, it can also occur as an answer to your prayer or an answer to your hearts meditation. God is not limited to only speak to you out of the “clear blue sky” so to speak. He can just as easily speak to you when your heart is searching for an answer. Yes, the Lord will speak to your heart at the appropriate time whether that is during the day or during the night. Angela and I have had experiences where we woke-up the next morning with an answer from God about a problem we were wrestling with the day or night before. Please don’t think it has to be something “spectacular” or “earth moving” it could be a soft echo of a very familiar scripture that is the exact solution to your problem. The Lord is very influential but His approach is very subtle such that if you choose to ignore Him you can. We all know that the dew is gentle and soft it is not a hard fast down pour of rain. Dew is quite the opposite it is so quiet you never hear it come, and yet it is so important to our life because it nourishes the plants. So it is with “the Dew of thought”, it is very important for imparting the wisdom of God into the life of man upon the earth. If you believe God is your Counselor and Friend please recognize His “Dew of thought” when it falls upon your heart and mind early in the morning. Amen.
